The bitter orange is quite simply the fruit of the bitter orange tree, a variety of orange found mainly in the Mediterranean region. It is widely used in the beer industry (it is used in the production of white beer, among others) and also in the production of certain alcohols such as Curaçao and Cointreau.

At home, it will add a touch of bitterness to a punch or mulled wine. It is also a culinary aid. A few barks or peels in a stew of beef or veal, and the dish takes on a new flavor. To try and adopt, really.
