Rosemary is indigenous to the Mediterranean basin. It is another member of the Lamiaceae family. Its Latin name is ros marinus, which means morning dew, due to the fact that rosemary grows best in the sun and by the sea. Its resinous and camphorated side is used for grilled meat (lamb, among others), venison and marinades. It also goes very well with the equally pronounced taste of garlic. Finally, it produces an essential oil that is highly appreciated in perfumery and the food industry.
