Tropical plant, ginger, without knowing exactly where it comes from (India or China?), has been talked about for thousands of years. It is even mentioned in writings dating back to 2400 B.C. It is also mentioned in the tales of the Thousand and One Nights, where it is believed to have aphrodisiac virtues. Nowadays, it is used in a wide range of preparations: pastries, seafood, soft drinks, marinades and, of course, Asian-style dishes.
